Nationals qualification

A question came up today.

The cut off average gets set thursday. Based on the rules if your qualified that day then your qualified even though the scores that got you there will expire. So theoretically you would not have to ski any tournaments in 2018 ski year except regionals and still be qualified.

Am I understanding that correctly?

@disland yes. In theory that could mean a bigger Nationals. With a lot of people knowing 1 year in advance that they are going and another group only having to hit the COA 1 time in a tounament between now and then. I like it.

Also remember if you don't ski any tournaments you run the risk of not being qualified for the following Nationals.

Talk about a sandbagger's dream. Qualified for Nationals and seeded based on ranking list with no scores, or as few as you want.
