Jump Ski Size for College Team

Hey folks,

I am on Baylor University's waterski team. I am looking to purchase some jumpers that the whole team can use. I have found a good deal close to campus on SIA, but they are 90". No one on the team has munch experience jumping. We would all be plopping. Will the skis being too big make them a bad investment for the team or will they be fine for people to learn on?

I would not go longer than 84" skis for team plop skis. Those 90s will be difficult to control for beginners on the water and in the air.

80" would be ideal for the range of weight and ability for collegiate skiers. Very hard to find though. MattP is right, absolutely no longer than 84. When the big skis get in the air, even plopping, they are a huge sail and can get away quickly. You would be ok with as short as 76 if you come across a pair.
If it was easy, they would call it wakeboarding.

Do you guys have any local show teams around you there? They might be a good source. They run shorter skis for flips and helis.
