96 Nautique Super Sport ski wake?

aspskiaspski Posts: 110 Baller
Found a really nice 96 Nautique super sport for sale. Its a v drive but after some research looks to be the same hull as the ski nautiques. Can anyone confirm that? Also, who has skied behind one? And pics of video to show what the wake looks like?

Good wakeboard machine, but not a great slalom tug. Since you are asking on BoS we assume that you want to really ski hard. If you are looking for something to cruise around the lake with your family, the Super Sport would be a great machine. If you want to run the course or really work on your slalom skiing, I'd suggest you keep looking.

I compare that boat to a SAN210. Great boat for cruising and boarding. If you are looking in that year range maybe look for a SNOB. If you are going for Nautique and wanted to spend a little more a SN206 would be good as well.

Good to know, thanks guys. Is there a speed/line length that is 'pretty good' to ski behind on this boat? Any pics or video would be great!

Not good for slalom. You may want to look for a MC PS 205, BU Response OB, SN OB or Gekko GTO

You'll have to try it out. Similarly sized V drive boats like the 205v x2 etc usually ski best at around 28 off 32 to 34 mph. You want to get as much crew weight up front and a bow sac can help as well. Some have altitude plates that can help knock down the wave. But moving the engine back to the rear means these boats want to run hull deep at all times.

Can you recreationally ski behind it sure, but the wake is really big. If you considering running the course, you want a direct drive. I had a Nautique Super Sport ages ago - great boat, just not for skiing :-)
