HO Omega Settings

edited September 5 in Skis Fins Bindings
Has anyone skied on the Omega that has fin/boot settings they like better than factory? I skied one set on a 66" Omega today with factory fin settings (6.840", 2.500", 0.775", 9, 29.5") and went straight to one buoy away from my PB this year off the dock. Love the ski so far!

My son is riding the 20th Anniversary Miami Nautique edition Omega that he got at Nationals and loves this ski! He is close to stock on a 66" 29.5", .782,2.505,6.849 wing 9. 36MPH skier, looks very stable with wicked turns and tip stays down nicely on both sides. He is more consistent on this ski and also ran right up to his PB in his first set. Thank you HO skis and Miami Nautique for such an awesome ski!

Thanks guys! The ski gets to course width with minimal effort, looking to speed of the turns on both sides just a bit. Suggestions on fin/boot changes to speed up the turns?

I got these settings for the Omega from Will Asher and Allie NIcholson at the Cali Pro-Am. That is Will Asher's own handwriting.

@Garn is the DFT a flat measurement or slot?

@JaredSmith This is what I have been using recently on my 67 Omega:
    .725 (slot)
    2.477
    6.950

    29.75

I know it quite different from what others have been using, but feel free to give it a shot and let me know how it goes!

    @JaredSmith I’m running these settings on both a 66 and a 67

    6.925
    2.467
    .784
    29.75
    8 degrees

These are also close to me sister Allie’s settings on hers.

@JaredSmith I believe it is flat but I can't say for sure.
  • Zaneh2oskiZaneh2oski Posts: 5 Baller
@JaredSmith they are flat. I was the one who set allies numbers
  • JaredSmithJaredSmith Posts: 44 Baller
Thanks! @Zaneh2oski is your posted DFT flat or slot?
  • Zaneh2oskiZaneh2oski Posts: 5 Baller
@JaredSmith yes I'm using the flat as well
  • JaredSmithJaredSmith Posts: 44 Baller
@Luzz what is your flat to slot conversion you are getting? When I measure with a slot I have to subtract 0.018" ish to convert to flat.

A flat DFT is a hard number to share, everyone does it slightly different and even the same person has a hard time coming up with the same number depending on the ski.

@JaredSmith I have no idea to tell you the truth. I also think flat DFT is so tail-shape dependent. I had a slot caliper laying around when I got the Omega, so I have been using slot DFT since then.

Also, just to make stuff a bit more interesting, here's what I have been playing with this week:

    .845 (slot)
    2.506
    6.850

    30 1/8
