Need SN Check Engine Reset

A_BA_B Posts: 4,115 Mega Baller
Last year I had an oil line blow out and the check engine red light came on. It is still on and am being told that it has to be reset with a code reader. No dealer that close to me for a 5-minute reset.

Anyone know any tricks to reset this without the cable and code reader?

Anyone in NWO have cable and reader?

@A_B - have you tried the battery disconnect technique, including making the positive/negative leads (after completely disconnected from battery) contact each other for a bit? This supposedly should clear the ECMs stored codes. Admittedly have never tried it myself.
IMO, if working on your marine engine with any regularity, Diacom hardware/software is worth the cost.

I haven’t tried the cross leads. Was disconnected all winter and thought that might work. I will just have to haul it to a dealer when cold water hits.
