The private ski lake community under $1 mil in Orlando may be tough to find. There are some developments in Clermont, north west of Orlando, that may have opportunities, such as Swiss Ski School, Champions Lake and a lake now being developed by Mike Hirst. Isles of Lake Hancock, where Drew Ross lives, is way out of your budget.
There are Cory’s in Santa Rosa Beach, Ski Watch in Pensacola and Ski Chaste in Mobile that are more affordable and Whitestone just north of Atlanta, but unlike Orlando, you won’t like skiing in the winter.
Last I knew, Cottonwood in Covington, La was for sale (one lake, one owner). That’s a nice spot but again you’ll have a winter. I can put you in touch with that owner if it sounds like you.
All that said, for around $1 mil maybe up to $1.3mil you can get a nice home on a public lake with a course in Orlando. I live on South Lake Conway and there is a course within swimming distance of my dock. But I choose to primarily ski at LaPoint Ski Park, which is a
