Re: Best looking prostar ever?
Spent a lot of time behind one of these. I think they we're for the World's hosted in Toronto. I remember watching Joel McClintock win the overall, and bringing home a new Taperflex Apex ski with the 'Wetboot' high wrap, size 63". I recall this was the ski Joel won on. amazing how things change.
Re: EP62: Ski Talk with John Horton
I thought that the point John made here was really good. If you can consistently run a couple of passes and then a couple of buoys at the next pass, you can competitively water ski. I had never thought of it that way. The idea of a competition is scary to me. I like to go and watch other good skiers, but I don't consider myself good enough to ski in competitions (I don't do anything close to shortline). Maybe I need to rethink that.
Re: Follow Origins Vest and stuff - Unboxing
I wouldn't say its like a light back support, but it might be if you tighten the buckle tight enough. its fairly tight at the bottom already, which is really nice. No need to pull down the vest after getting up or anything it stays in place.
Re: How can we competition back into your typical weekend water ski tournaments???
So another item out of the meetings was the return of the competition task force from 15 years ago who came up with the rankings system we have today. I know BOS has had multiple topics on figuring out more/better/different ways to compete in our sport. Aaron weeks has agreed to chair this so its time to fill the committee, and I'd like to fill it with some of you for sure, so if interested contact me please.
Re: Flex vs "Rebound"
Its probably better to think of flex and rebound independently even though they can be related and will be very material dependent. Think of a car with a spring and shock absorber. If you remove the shock absorber and sit on the hood then jump off the rebound will be very quick. Now put the shock absorber on and the rebound will be much slower even though the flex (amount the car went down) is the same.
In this example the flex is determined 100% by the spring while the rebound is determined (almost) 100% by the shock absorber.
