New Prostar speeds and pull?

markchilcuttmarkchilcutt Posts: 947 Crazy Baller
Maybe this has already been talked on another thread? Just wondering how the new prostar is doing at your lake? Looking for approx elevation, what motor your running and how its doing with bigger guys at 36mph if you have experience with that or any input at all you might have would be great??
Thanks a bunch, MC

We only had it for a demo day at Okeeheelee, but never saw a bad time all day and when I drove it, I'd have to say it had plenty of power. Are you worried it will have issues at high elevations with 36mph and/or heavy skiers?

@roger thanks just trying to figure out if the 6.2 liter will be required at high elevation to pull top ranked OM skiers at 36? I think i know the answer just trying to get info from people who have time in the new boat.

I will say this, the PS with the 5.7 is a LOT stronger than the 197 with the 5.7 as it lot 400 lbs. I've been told by some at MC that's the reason they didn't offer the 6.0. They felt they no longer needed the big engine for anything but the OM jumpers. I've got an email into one of the MC guys to see what they're seeing out of boats at altitude now that they're being delivered.

Chatted with my buddy at MC. He said that what they're seeing now that boats are being delivered is that 175ft+ jumpers and big 36mph skiers on sub 2000 ft lakes should really look to the 6.2L engine.

Thanks @ShaneH. If things work out i will most likely go with the 6.2L. We ski at 4500-5000 ft so i am thinking 6.2L is a must have!!!!
