Line Pressure Past Center

From time to time I hear comments about using your arms but what I see here is some bicep work... In this photo I see Chris building / or increasing line pressure to maintain swing speed - thoughts?

That picture doesn't make perfect sense to me, and it's hard to tell from that picture exactly where he is. But "bicep work" really isn't how you should be using your arms. But resisting the urge to give your arms up to the boat too quickly and begin your reach, does require a bit of patience and what can look like resistance, when in actuality he's just waiting until the opportune time to begin a controlled reach, whereby he gives nothing back to the boat too soon
