2015 Malibu TXI Zero Off surging

I have a 2015 Malibu TXI with the 5.7. I recently took the boat to a private lake development and mapped the two courses. Without a skier the Zero Off revs every time i pass a guide buoy all the way thru the course. Is this normal? I get good times with or without a skier. At my home course I don't remember the rev when I initially mapped the course. I assumed the rev was always from the skier load. Any input would be appreciated. My concern is that the skier is getting the load rev increase plus some incidental rev increase.

There are other threads on BOS about bad Garmin pucks. I believe the surging is a symptom of that.

Bad pucks. Unplug one of them may only have one bad one

I unplugged one puck last year and all was good! 2015 Nautique started doing it again this year so I got a puck from Perfect Pass and it working fine now!
