The American Water Skiing Association’s board of directors recently re-approved a modification to the new Zero Based Scoring Slalom Rule. In all classes of tournaments – class C, E and L – skiers can shorten the rope before they get to their division maximum speed. Local Organizing Clubs may opt to allow skiers to ski higher than division maximum speeds, up to 36 mph for male divisions and 34 mph for female divisions, excluding juniors, in class C tournaments, at their discretion.

I don't understand unless this. Up 2 mph, make pass, and only get 3 additional buoys ? ? Am I reading this correctly

No, your reading it wrong. You can now choose to increase by just 1mph. For those that feel 2 mph is too much.

It's a bit disappointing that mid-loops aren't being allowed as well as the mile per hour increments. I look forward to ZBS Rev-3 adding that option.

There are some additional provisions in the rule change. AWSA is concerned about everybody skiing way too fast and hurting themselves, particularly with a "head through the handle" situation. Therefore, everyone must now use this standard handle setup.

Love it !! Heck they can pull the bouys in a half a meter and lengthen the course 5 meters and forget about the entry gates! It's all good. But none of that applys here !
