Reattaching padding on a Jump Helmet

I have a jump helmet with side padding near the chin that has come loose. Any suggestions for reattaching the padding? Superglue didn't work, I'm assuming either because both surfaces are pretty slick or due to the water.

Scratch it up and get some contact adhesive

says. scuff and use contact cement. Barge shoe glue works great.
