Yesterday, Jennifer LaPoint broke the W5 National Record with a score of [email protected]
, 32 mph. She broke it in round 2 at the November Turns tournament at the Drew Ross Ski Academy behind a Nautique driven by Gordon West using a new ML rope and a, shall we say, “custom” HO ski. The existing record is held by Plillippa Shed with a score of [email protected]
, which Jennifer tied in round 1.
Jennifer won the Queen’s Cup in September. All this is post ankle replacement surgery ultimately required by a devastating injury In a pro event in the late 90’s. Her doctors then advised her that she would never ski again and might not ever walk. I guess she showed them!
