Check out the boat path. A hand driven outboard...

And the world record jump of the same time

A current photo of that boat

Too funny. I ran 32 off at 36 mph and 35 off at 34 mph in the 90's behind a hand driven outboard. My old man was pretty good...kept a stopwatch in his throttle hand never far from 16.08. Only time I skied an inboard was at tourneys.

I was there in 84. Great event. Glen Thurlow set the Jump record the year before in 83

That first video cut out just as Duval took his first jump and the commentator alluded to Hazelwood, Roberge and Thurlow still on the dock. What a line up! Especially considering that Carrington and Bruce Neville already had jumped.

Mapple won by more than a full pass.
