Taking off the wing

Anyone tried removing their wing? How much faster did the ski feel?. I was thinking that we all want to buy the latest and greatest fast ski, that accelerates from the ball to the wakes, yet we have a bolt on item that by design creates drag.  How much down force is created by the wing to help keep the tail in the water in the turn. Educate me here guys!

so you dont think you would feel an increase in speed thru the wakes, after removing a wing
