Front binding not centered

Question: Bought a new top of line ski at worlds yesterday, mfg. name not important. When I mounted the front binder(reflex plate) I noticed that it was not centered. All of the holes are a 1/16 to the left so binder is not centered. Rear binder not so important as I rotate it a little any way. Do you think it makes a difference? I'm sure I can take it back tomorrow for replacement as I haven't skied it yet.

I noticed that on my front insert pattern on my ski this season (very popular ski brand at Worlds). If my bio-mass movement that sits on top of this slightly miss-aligned pattern was absolutely identical and perfect every pass, I may have been concerned.

@wawaskr : Have to also consider if I don't like the ski and go to sell it. New buyer may notice it and think he got stiffed. I think when one spends close to two grand for a ski it should be right, but don't want to be a whiner either.

If you paid full price take it back. I'd call it at least a blem..

There was a particular batch of a very popular ski in 2017, that had the fin block holes mis-aligned with the fin slot..this resulted i the fin not being perpendicular to the base of the ski..

    Defo return it.

    @BS74

1/16th is more than I would prefer but it's probably not enough for you to feel. I've seen much larger offsets than that.

Your foot does not sit in your binding exactly the same by more than 1/16th from past to pass.

Being at worlds and that you didn’t ski it yet, go on back to the tent and talk to them. You get to see some skiing and get it cleared up, win win.

@BS74 try loosing all screws and moving the binding center and the screw back down. But if you don’t feel comfortable take it back and talk with the dealer.

@dave2ball : I used a caliper to measure and there is a little over a 1/16 to one side, not enough play in plate. I'll take it back, I'm sure they will give me another one.

Is this ski right/left front foot specific, or universal?

@BS74 take it back, use a key and your thumb against the bevel to measure on the spot any replacement ski... over 1/16” should be visible with naked eye anyway.
Is this an all carbon finish ski, visible carbon, no vinyl or painted ski?

Only a 16th? pfffft ... off more than that is good for silver!

Is it time to ski, yet?

@dchristman, looks like front is rotated, not mounted evenly to one side. I think he has some kind of hybrid Goode. It probably wouldn't have made a difference. When I took the ski back the company thanked me because it alerted them to a potential manufacturing problem.

It is actually off-center. They mentioned it on the broadcast. The ski is asymetrical.

@dchristman I don't see where he said it was a goode? Did HO or Radar or Connelly start selling an assymmetrical ski?

Goode/Reflex/Denali have rff lff versions. Anyone else?

Maybe I'm remembering wrong but I recall that Tgas rides a completely one off ski, one half is a particular model and the other half another, totally custom mold?

@BraceMaker , the ski he's pictured with says Goode.
