@horton Historically most clubs were selecting every day of the year to sanction practice, so now you simply request to have all of the club's practices sanctioned for the year and pay a $50 annual fee.
Log into the club account, then click the bottom option on the sidebar "Event Sanctioning" and complete the annual agreement.
It may have changed (hasn't almost everything usaws) but safety only required for jumping in past years.

The benefit of sanctioning practice is insurance. For the insurance to cover a loss, there has to be a safety available and the driver has to be rated or have completed the trained driver program.
