I have a friend looking for a newer SN196, 2006 or newer. Are there differences in years as far as slalom wake characteristics are concerned? Anybody have one near So. Cal for sale?

Since we did the switch to the Carbon Pro, just posted our 2008 196 on Ski-it-again yesterday it has zero off, bimini, heater 600 hours, tandem trailer, sweet driving boat in Sacramento

Chuck - you will find the 2006-2009 versions to be identical. A 2006 will take an ECM change to install ZO. Some of the 2007's did not require this conversion ($). If ZO is critical, I would look at a 2008-2009 unless you find a 2007 where the PO has installed ZO.
Chuck - OF's Malibu is PPSG, which works quite well. A 2005 could be ZO, but it would not be "plug and play", so you if you want ZO, you're better off to go take a set behind waterskigirl's SN and check it out

If memory serves I'm pretty certain that an '05 Malibu (Indmar) cannot be converted to ZO. Been discussed in detail on The MalibuCrew message board but Jody Seal is actually the guy to answer this question, he does the conversions. Personally I'm perfectly good with PPSG.
