Does anyone have any thoughts on fin thicknesses, I had a few spair minutes and measured some different fins in my tool box. My old sixam fin is .085, an HO fin is .10, two connelly fins, one is .95 and one is .10

Thicker is stiffer/ faster but Andy M, Kris L, Wade C have all told me that they think thicker creates lift at the back of the ski. These guys like thinner better. I am unsure how much of what they feel is stiffness or hydrodynamics. Part of what they are getting with thinner is softer flex (see CarbonFins.com) but they think what it is about is the water displacment.

I got a thinner Goode blade for my 9500 from Schnitz. It did not work for me at that time, but I was not the tweaker that I am today.

I have heard that some 9800 guys are liking the 9700 fin on the 9800 insted of the new blue blade, but I do not know if there is a diff in thickness.
